Helping your teenager get closer to calm and joy
Ongoing support for your teenager is the most effective way to help them make big changes in their life, from feeling stuck where they are and trying to cope with their everyday anxiety - to feeling supported and empowered by tools and practices that they can feel and see really work. The transformations I see as I share easy and effective tools with teenagers are amazing and I'm passionate about sharing my years of working with young people, mental health and well-being to help them find the calm, peace and joy they deserve. Ongoing programs of support give teenagers time to grow, explore, connect and heal. Each session is focused entirely upon them individually and what they need to create a positive change in their life.
An initial session is about getting to know them, discussing their needs and setting goals for the following sessions. I provide a safe and secure space where they will feel heard, understood and truly listened to. Each week there will be a similar format to the session, starting with an initial conversation about their weekly achievements, what’s working, what’s not working and any new issues that have come up. They will be given an opportunity to open up and work though issues. I will give them the support and encourage to find the answers for themselves through the use of a variety of powerful tools and techniques.
Ongoing support gives the time needed for your teenager to explore different coping strategies and, with my support, develop these to become life-long skills. The process of helping anxiety, depression, OCD and sleep issues takes time, support and commitment and my intention is to give them the solid foundations and tools to make huge shifts in how they feel and what they believe is possible. I provide them with tools to work with beyond our work together and build their self-eteem, confidence and resilience. .
A five Step Program
Stepping Stones to Calm - 5 week program for teenagers
This 5 week program supports teenagers with anxiety.
During the 5 weeks they will understand what happens in the body when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or angry. They will learn techniques to help strengthen their vagal tone and techniques which can be used in the event of overwhelm or anxiety.
It’s practical, informative and individual to their needs.
They will be shown the power of breathing exercises, mindfulness, guided imagery, using the imagination and other practical ways to get the body out of fight/flight/freeze response and back to calm.
Each session lasts 45 minus and is online over zoom
